Feedback templates
What are feedback templates?
Feedback templates allow users to provide feedback about their experiment and experience at the facility through a questionnaire. This form becomes available to users after their experiment has been allocated a time within the external scheduler. User Officers can set the Feedback template they wish to utilize with the MARK AS ACTIVE function on the feedback templates page.
How to mark a feedback template as active?
Unlike some other templates, feedback templates cannot be linked calls or individually assigned to proposals. Instead, User Officers must mark a feedback template as active. This will assign it to all users to be filled out after their experiment has been allocated a time within the external scheduler. The template marked as active will remain active until another feedback template is marked.
Step 1: Navigate to the feedback templates page
- In the main menu select
TEMPLATES - From the dropdown menu, choose
FEEDBACK
Step 2: Find the feedback template you wish to mark as active
- On the Feedback templates page, find the template you mark as active. You may wish to create a new feedback template or edit a feedback template.
Step 3: Mark the feedback template as active*
- Click the
MARK AS ACTIVEfunction on your chosen feedback template. Note: The template will remain marked as active until another is feedback template is marked.
How do I create feedback templates?
Step 1: Navigate to the feedback templates page
- In the main menu select
TEMPLATES - From the dropdown menu, choose
FEEDBACK
Step 2: Create a new feedback template
- On the Feedback templates page, click the
CREATEbutton - Enter a name for the new Feedback template. You may also provide an optional description
- Click
CREATEto proceed
Step 3: Edit the feedback template

In the Feedback template editor you can set -----

The changes made to the feedback template will be updated automatically
How do I edit feedback templates?
Step 1: Navigate to the feedback templates page
- To edit a pre-existing Feedback template, select
TEMPLATESfrom the main menu - From the dropdown menu, choose
FEEDBACK
Step 2: Find the feedback template you wish to edit
- On the Feedback templates page, find the template you wish to edit. You may wish to use the
SEARCHfunction to search for the name or description if there are a lot of templates. - You may wish to make a copy of the feedback template you want to edit. To do this, click the
CLONEfunction on the template you wish to make a copy of. Note: the clone will be renamed 'Copy of (name)' and will be added to the end of the list of feedback templates.
NOTE: The cloning feature is useful if you wish to make changes to a feedback template and keep a copy of the original version for reference. It is good practice to make copies of templates in case the previous version needs to be utilized in the future.
Step 3: Edit the template

Click the
EDITfunction on the template you wish to make changes to. This function will open the Feedback template editor. -
The Feedback template changes will be updated automatically
How do I import and export feedback templates?
Step 1: Navigate to the feedback templates page
- Go to the main menu and select
TEMPLATES - From the dropdown menu, choose
FEEDBACK
Step 2: Export or Import the feedback template

To export a feedback template, click on the
EXPORTaction on the desired template. This action will export the Feedback template to a .json file which can be shared and imported in User Office. -
To import a feedback template, click on the the
IMPORTbutton at the bottom of the page. This will open the Import template page. From here, click onSELECT FILEto .json feedback templates.
How do I clone feedback templates?
Step 1: Navigate to the feedback templates page

- On the feedback templates page, find the template you wish to clone. You may wish to use the
SEARCHfunction to search for the name or description if there are a lot of templates.

What does # feedbacks mean on feedback templates?
In the feedback templates page, the # feedbacks assigned to the templates refers to the number of feedback forms users have submitted to that feedback template.
